Prior to becoming a Magistrate, Amy was in private practice for 22 years. She practiced in Ohio, Michigan and the United States Bankruptcy Court in Ohio and Michigan. She developed a successful practice that included representing parties in Juvenile Court, Domestic Relations Court, Bankruptcy Court, Common Pleas and Municipal Courts.

Amy would represent parties in very challenging times in their lives and would strive to obtain the best result for her clients. She would handle cases involving private custody, children services cases, grandparent custody/visitation, adoption, divorce as well as post divorce litigation. Amy was also a Guardian ad Litem that was appointed by the court to investigate and make recommendations concerning the best interests of the child.

For 22 years Amy was also a proud member of the Toledo Legal Aid Society and represented indigent persons charged with criminal offenses in both the Common Pleas, Juvenile and Municipal Courts. She would zealously represent her clients at all stages of the proceedings including pretrial negotiations, motion hearings as well as trial. "I have presided over countless cases involving children and their families these last few year's while serving as a Magistrate. It was my responsibility to ensure that each child’s case was handled with care and compassion and to ensure that their voices were heard and rights protected. I believe in fairness and justice for all and I believe my past experience has shown that I can be counted on to make impartial and just decisions. It is has been a privilege to serve as a Magistrate these past few years and to make a positive change in the lives of those who came before me. I am confident I can continue doing so if elected as Juvenile Court Judge."   Amy Stoner
